Calling all UK poker players; the 2015 PKR Live tour is heading to London this weekend for a 3-day, 6-event poker festival at Aspers Casino. PKR Live London – and the £50k GTD Main Event – will get underway on Friday, March 20, set to wrap up on Sunday, March 22nd.
It’s not often that a multi-event poker tournament series kicks off with the Main Event as the first listing on the schedule, but that’s just how PKR Live rolls. This Friday, the 2015 PKR Live London Main Event will get underway at 4:00pm at the prestigious Aspers Casino, where participants and their devoted railbirds are asked to dress casual, but “no sports wear” please.
The buy-in for the Main Event is £300 (£270+£30), but there are qualifiers and satellites still running at PKR.com to win your seat for as little as £0.30 or 300 poker points. Direct entry to Thursday’s Final Stage Qualifier is £100.
The Main Event’s top finishers are guaranteed to walk away with their share of at least £50,000. The 3-Day event will wrap up with the final table on Sunday, but there’s a lot more action to be had in between, including a throng of cash game activity on the sidelines at Aspers Casino.
As the PKR Live London Main Event continues into Day 2 at 1:00pm on Saturday, a special ‘Win the Button’ tournament will take place at 3:00pm. It’s a £40 NLHE event, and according to the rules, “The player who wins the main pot will also win the button for the next hand. In the event of a split pot, the button moves to the winning player closest to the left of the existing button.”
Also on Saturday, an £80 NLHE Deep Stack event gets underway at 6:00pm, followed by a special invite-only VIP Party for Online Qualifiers at 7:00pm. Drinks will be served to all PKR Live participants who qualified for a seat via the online poker room.
At 1:00pm on Sunday, the 2015 PKR Live London Main Event will enter its third and final day as the remaining contenders are whittled down to a single winner. For those who don’t make it that far, there’s a £30 Turbo Bounty event (£25+£5+£5) beginning at 3:00pm, where every elimination nets you an instant £5 prize. Last but not least, the final event of the 2015 PKR Live London will start at 6:00pm, where £35 grants a seat in the Deep Stack Turbo.
PKR Live ‘King of Qualifiers’ Promo
Aside from the exclusive VIP party for online qualifiers, there’s an added incentive to win your seat in the 2015 PKR Live Main Event this weekend. The online poker room is running a special promotion called King of Qualifiers in which all Main Event contenders who qualified online are racing against one another to be the last qualifier standing.
In order to win the title of (and prize for) King of Qualifiers, a player must be the last qualifier eliminated from the Main Event, and must finish in a paying position. Winning the event also counts, of course. The King of Qualifiers will be grandly rewarded for their lasting performance by having their PKR Live London Main Event winnings increased by 20%.
