Online poker phenom Chris “moorman1” Moorman has done it again. Between Friday, May 8 and the following Friday, May 15, Moorman completed yet another hat trick, bringing his total to 25 Triple Crowns. In doing so, he also extended his lead as the world’s highest winning online poker tournament player by more than $3 million.
Kicking off his latest record breaking hat trick, “moorman1” took down the $77 iPOPS at Everest Poker on May 8, wrangling up $15,000 for the 1st place finish. He followed that up with a $6,900 win at 888Poker’s $160 Crocodile tournament on May 9. Finally, on May 15, Chris Moorman routed the field at PokerStars $109 NLHE Turbo event, scooping $2,875 and an amazing 25th Triple Crown.
It seems like Moorman has held the record for the most online poker Triple Crowns ever since PocketFives instated the prolific accolade. His nearest competitor, “PokerKaiser”, has an impressive 16 hat tricks under his proverbial belt; nowhere near to catching the 29 year old British online poker pro.
No Slowing Down for Chris “morman1” Moorman
I remember clearly when the headlines were blowing up across the internet as Chris became the first to reach the $10,000,000 milestone for online poker tournament cashes. It happened on a Saturday evening—September 28, 2013, to be exact—when “moorman1” topped the field at Party Poker in a $215 tournament worth $9,500. He already had 15 Triple Crowns at that time.
Now, nearly two years later, he’s shown no signs of slowing down. At just 29 years of age, the online poker pro continues to see extraordinary success on the virtual felt. In fact, in the last 11 days since being honored with yet another Triple Crown achievement, “moorman1” has continued to grind away at the tournaments, cashing an amazing 79 times, including four more 1st place finishes.
On May 16, just 24 hours after completing his latest hat trick, Moorman pocketed $7,290 at bwin.com’s Saturday Major. The very next day, he won $87,400 at PokerStars’ $530 Sunday 500. Then on May 19, Chris landed $6,269 at PokerStars for winning another $109 NLHE Turbo. Finally, on Wednesday, May 20, “moorman1” collected $7,222 in PokerStars $215 NLHE Turbo.
To date (and I’m sure this figure will change before the clock strikes midnight), Chris Moorman has harvested a staggering $12,417,486 in online poker tournament cashes. And with so many 1st place finishes in the last few weeks alone, the British poker pro has also managed to reclaim the top spot on the UK online poker leaderboard with a PLB of 6,462.07.
His nearest rival, Patrick “pleno1” Leonard, isn’t far behind with a PLB of 6,194.73. Then in third, Scott “Aggro Santos” Margereson is right on the heels of Leonard with 6,162.41.
Moorman also a Worthy Live Competitor
As impressive as Chris “moorman1” Moorman has performed on the virtual felt, his live success cannot be overlooked. Since July 2008, the Englishman has racked up just over $4 million in live event cashes, including 21 in-the-money finishes at WSOP events.
In 2011, he earned his largest live event cash for finishing 2nd in the WSOP Europe Main Event for €800,000 USD ($1,068,690). Then in March of 2014, the online poker pro earned his first WPT Title in the LA Poker Classic Main Event, worth USD $1,015,460.
