Vicky Coren Mitchell’s Performance of the Year award was a no-brainer for the panel of judges and voting public. In 2014, she became the first poker pro in history to win 2 EPT Main Events. Her first prodigious success in a European Poker Tour Main Event occurred at EPT London in 2006, worth £500,000. Then in April of last year, she won the 2014 EPT San Remo Main Event for €476,100.

Two other well-known UK poker pros, Chris Moorman and Simon Deadman, also took home multiple awards Monday night for their stellar performance in 2014.

Chris Moorman added yet another Best Online Player award to his ever-growing collection, having brought home the same award every single year since the BPA’s inaugural ceremony in 2010. Moorman has over $4 million in live tournament winnings, and a staggering $12 million in online tournament winnings under his belt.

Simon Deadman has been dominating the live tournament circuit since 2009, raking in $1.865 million in winnings. However, a large majority of those winnings came in 2014, including a 1st place routing at the Hollywood Poker Open in Las Vegas worth $351,097 and a 4th place finish at EPT Prague’s High Roller Event that paid €238,320. For that, he was bestowed with the 2014 Breakout Player of the Year award, as well as the Best Live Tournament Player award.

2014 British Poker AwardsIn other categories, Nottingham’s Dusk Till Dawn was honored with the Best Live Cardroom award, while DTD’s owner, Rob Yong, collected the award for Best Contribution to Growing and Promoting Poker. Chances are, the duo will take home the same awards next year as Rob Yong just signed a multi-year contract between DTD and partypoker. As part of the partnership, the cardroom will be hosting the Grand Prix Millions with 18 starting days, nine of which will occur online, and the other nine live at Dusk Till Dawn.

Rounding out the winners of the 2014 British Poker Awards, Canadian poker pro Daniel Negreanu was honored with the Best International Player award, and the title of Best Blogger went to Jake Cody. Toby Stone (EPT) received the Best Tournament Director award, and the WPT500 was named Best Tournament. The Best Training Site award was given to Run It Once and Red Tooth Poker was awarded with Best Poker League.
