Stanley was taken over by the Genting gaming brand, which has meant a name change for all of the locations throughout the UK. Genting York Place was the Berkley Casino in Edinburgh. It was renamed Genting and the street location to make it easier for Genting guests to find. It is in a wonderfully older building that has an ambiance of its own. Genting York Place does not require a membership. It is open from 2pm to 6am every day, even holidays. There are over 20 games to choose from in terms of tables and slots. While there is no live entertainment, sports betting, or race betting, there is a late night bar for meals and snacks.
There are 11 tables, five of which offer Blackjack, 5 with American Roulette, and One 3 card stud table. Genting York Place is all about the gaming tables unlike other UK land based casinos. They do not offer live entertainment or a restaurant. You do have promotions and a loyalty programme you can join for free. The dress code is smart casual meaning nice jeans and trainers are allowed, though business slacks and shirt are more what the casino is looking for.
